Overview
We continue to prepare to plan instruction by synthesizing our knowledge about how students learn science into a set of learning principles, and analyzing some textbooks in light of some of these principles.
Learning Goals
Students will:
elaborate on ideas related to how students learn science paying particular attention to justifying the principle.
unpack national and state standards, including what does it really mean, what non-normative ideas do students hold regarding the learning, and what prior knowledge is necessary.
analyze curriculum materials related to a particular learning goals to determine how they engage students with representations and phenomena.
